Assisting in preserving and interpreting the natural and cultural resources of Borderland State Park
Explore the history of the estate of Oakes and Blanche Ames while supporting Friends of Borderland State Park! Volunteer tour guides will tell the story of Oakes and Blanche Ames, the mansion and their love of nature. Only the Friends Mansion tours explore all three fully furnished floors, so don't miss your chance to discover the Ames Mansion.
Tours run every 30 minutes, and each tour has a maximum of 15 people. For all ages, children must be accompanied by an adult. Tours are $10 per person, children and members are FREE. Tickets for tours are sold only on the day of the tour in the Ames Mansion Gift Shop beginning at 11:30am. Rain or shine. For more information, please call Borderland State Park at (508) 238-6566 or contact us.
Gift Shop will be open at the Ames Mansion during these tour times.
Cash or Credit Cards accepted.
PLEASE NOTE: We offer the three-floor tours only. If you would like to tour the historic Ames Mansion, DCR offers tours of the first floor only, multiple times a week. On the first floor DCR tours, they provide more themed focused tours that elaborate on different 'chapters' of the Ames family story. To see when the first floor tours are scheduled, please visit their website: CLICK HERE.
Please Note: All DCR and Friends of Borderland tours and indoor programs have been cancelled due to the ongoing pandemic. Once we can safely resume providing tours and indoor programs, we will publish that information on this website as well as on our Facebook page. (updated: January 2022)
Tours and programs are currently suspended due to the ongoing pandemic.
