THE FRIENDS

OF BORDERLAND

The Friends of Borderland is a non-profit organization formed in 1972, dedicated to preserving and maintaining the Borderland property, the Ames mansion, and the heritage of the Ames family that created the Borderland Estate. We provide for the general public an interesting, informative and fun schedule of events to help them appreciate the natural and cultural resources that are available at Borderland State Park.

Programs begin at the Visitors Center unless otherwise indicated. All parking lots have a $2 parking fee payable at the yellow machine in the Visitor Center parking lot.  All dogs must be on a leash.  For accessibility information call (508-238-6566). Winter 2010

Signs of Winter Wildlife

When:  Saturday, January 30, 2009

Time:  10:00 am

Join Don & Kyla Bennett for this fun family expedition to explore wildlife in the winter. Look for tracks, fur bits, and scat to see who has been in Borderland State Park's woods. Different signs can lend clues to which animals are around and what have they been doing. Bits of fur, nibbles on branches, antler rubs and scat can give clues to great animal stories.

Meet at the Visitor Center at 10:00AM for a family friendly hike through Borderland State Park.  Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy footwear. No strollers, please. Rain cancels. There is a parking fee of $2.00 per car.  Please call (508) 238-6566 for more information.

This program is sponsored by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation and the Friends of Borderland.  Program is free and open to the public.  Reasonable accommodations are available upon request.
